The B140 is the powered subwoofer of Revel's Performa4 series, introduced at AXPONA 2026 alongside two towers, two bookshelf speakers, a centre channel and matching stands, with deliveries from April 2026. Revel, part of Harman, designed it as the low-frequency partner for the F346 and F345 floorstanders and the M146 and M145 standmount models. The suggested price is USD 2,999 each, and the catalogue number of the walnut version is REVP4B140WALAM.

Key specs that matter

A Class D amplifier rated at 750 W RMS and 1500 W peak drives one 10 inch (250 mm) woofer. Frequency response is 26 Hz to 150 Hz within plus or minus 6 dB. The variable low-pass filter covers 50 Hz to 150 Hz at 24 dB per octave. The woofer carries a 75 mm two-layer copper voice coil and moves up to 30 mm peak to peak. The cabinet is 376 mm high, 429 mm wide and 436 mm deep and weighs 27.8 kg, or 35.2 kg in its carton. Power supply versions exist for 120 V at 60 Hz and for 220-230 V at 50/60 Hz, with consumption below 0.5 W in standby and 205 W at maximum.

Engineering and use context

The driver has a coated fibre-composite cone mounted in a cast aluminium frame. Bass loading is reflex, through a rear port that follows Revel's patented Constant Pressure Gradient geometry, and the box itself is rigid and cross-braced. Styling follows the rest of Performa4 - gently curved sides in natural walnut or black walnut veneer, a polished black accent, and grilles held by magnets with no visible fasteners, hidden hardware and integrated trim rings. All controls are on the rear panel, namely the low-pass filter, a phase control, volume and an auto on/off circuit, which powers the B140 up on detecting input and shuts it down once the source goes quiet.

Pairing

Inputs are an RCA socket for LFE or line level signals and a 3.5 mm jack for a 12 V trigger. The LFE path bypasses the internal low-pass filter, so an AV receiver or surround processor handles bass management directly, while the line path lets a stereo preamplifier feed the B140 with the filter set to meet the main speakers. The trigger input allows the subwoofer to start up in step with any receiver or power amplifier fitted with a 12 V output. In a Performa4 system the natural companions are the F346 tower and the C245 centre channel with its dual 5.25 inch woofers.

Alternatives

The Revel B10 from the earlier Concerta2 series is another 10 inch model, with an 800 W RMS amplifier and a -3 dB point of 35 Hz.
