The Overture O303F is the smallest of the three floorstanders AudioSolutions introduced with the MK3 generation of Overture, the company's entry range. Unlike the O304F and O305F, which split the band three ways, the O303F keeps a two-way MTM arrangement with the tweeter placed between two identical cones. The MK3 update replaced the enclosure, the drive units and the crossover layout of the MK2 version, and the model was announced at EUR 2,900 alongside the O304F at EUR 3,600 and the O305F at EUR 4,200.
Key specs that matter
A 2.5 cm silk dome tweeter is flanked by a pair of 15.2 cm mid-bass drivers with ER paper cones, and a single crossover point at 3,000 Hz divides the signal between them. The in-room frequency range is given as 37 Hz to 26,000 Hz. Sensitivity reaches 90 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, and nominal impedance is 4 ohms. Power handling is listed as 110 W nominal, with 220 W as the maximum unclipped figure. The cabinet stands 938 mm tall, 210 mm wide and 330 mm deep, and the footprint widens to 357 mm once the feet are attached. Each unit weighs 25 kg, or 28 kg boxed.
Engineering and use context
AudioSolutions calls the enclosure a Sectional-Box-in-a-Box and credits its origin to the pricier Virtuoso series. A light inner shell sits within a heavier outer shell, and polyurethane between them acts as the damping medium, which the maker says moves energy out of the panels quickly instead of letting it ring. The ER cones are derived from the drivers used in the Figaro speakers. The tweeter is loaded by a small horn flare that damps the frequencies at which a soft dome starts to flex, adding sensitivity rather than cutting it. Bass output is vented through a high-flow reflex port with a rounded flange. For the phase-linear filter, coreless copper coils are mounted on a heavy-gauge copper circuit board. Spikes thread into M6 inserts, and caps come with them to protect hardwood floors, while the frosted satin silver binding posts accept thick cable terminations. Gloss Black and Gloss White are the standard finishes, with Oak, Mahogany and Wenge wood textures offered at extra cost.
Pairing
Given its low impedance, the O303F wants an amplifier specified for stable output into such loads, and the nominal power rating gives a guide to how much continuous power the drivers are built to accept.
Alternatives
The AudioSolutions Overture O304F adds a dedicated midrange unit and two 15.2 cm woofers in a 990 mm cabinet.
