The F35 sits below the F36 as the slimmer Revel tower in the Concerta2 series from Harman, a range that also covers the M16 bookshelf model, the C25 centre, the S16 on-wall speaker and the B10 subwoofer. Revel describes it as a 2.5-way design with three 5.25 inch woofers and a 1 inch tweeter, offered in a gloss finish of either white or black. The Concerta2 range replaced the original Concerta series that Revel introduced in 2005 - the successor took over two years to develop.

Key specs that matter

Sensitivity is 90 dB for 2.83 V at 1 m, and the nominal impedance is 6 ohm. Revel suggests amplifiers of 30 to 180 W. Low-frequency extension is quoted as 55 Hz at -3 dB, 46 Hz at -6 dB and 35 Hz at -10 dB. The crossover points sit at 575 Hz and 1.8 kHz. Its vented enclosure, ported to the rear, measures about 102 x 21 x 31 cm by height, width and depth, with a mass per unit of roughly 18.6 kg.

Engineering and use context

Instead of a separate midrange, the upper woofer works as a woofer-midrange across the full low band, joined by two dedicated woofers below. A patent-pending dividing network splits the lower pair from the upper driver, and Revel states that this larger total cone area is what lifts system sensitivity to its rated level. The aluminium tweeter sits in a waveguide with an acoustic lens that matches its directivity to the midrange through the crossover region. A large vented cavity behind its magnet assembly, plus a compliant surround, sets the tweeter's mechanical resonance at 800 Hz, against the 1.5 kHz Revel cites for similarly priced designs, so the tweeter-to-midrange crossover could be placed an octave lower. Woofer cones use Micro-Ceramic Composite, two ceramic layers separated by aluminium, and the drivers were refined with Klippel and laser analysis. The port uses a patented Constant Pressure Gradient profile with a contoured inner wall to reduce compression. Cabinets have curved side walls, internal bracing, magnetic grilles and no visible fasteners.

Pairing

Revel names modestly powered multi-channel receivers as a suitable match for both Concerta2 towers. For a surround system, Revel offers the C25 centre and the B10, a 10 inch sub driven by an 800 W Class D amplifier, within Concerta2.

Alternatives

The Revel Concerta2 F36 is the bigger Concerta2 floorstander, fitted with three 6.5 inch woofers.
