The PQS-100 Plus is the smallest two-way loudspeaker from German Physiks, pairing the company's carbon fibre DDD omnidirectional driver with a downward firing 6-inch woofer in a compact enclosure intended for stereo systems in smaller rooms.

Key specs that matter

The carbon fibre DDD driver covers 120 Hz to 24,000 Hz, with the woofer handling the range below. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms and quoted sensitivity is 84 dB for 1 W at 1 m. Power handling is 90 W nominal with 180 W short term peak, and German Physiks asks for at least 40 W into 4 ohms. The cabinet measures 267 mm wide, 275 mm high and 312 mm deep, and weighs 11 kg.

Engineering and use context

Because the woofer fires toward the floor and the DDD unit radiates around its axis, the speaker is meant to go on the optional PQS-Plus stands or be attached directly to the wall, which suits its use in 5.1 systems. The maker covers it with a 5 year warranty.
