The Clarity 6.2 is the bigger of a pair of standmount designs from Radiant Acoustics, whose founding partners include the driver maker PURIFI. Built in Denmark, it combines a 6.5-inch PURIFI Ushindi woofer with a custom dual-magnet Air Motion Transformer tweeter and two passive radiators in a cabinet faced with aluminium. The launch price was USD 4,498 per pair.

Key specs that matter

The woofer carries the PURIFI part number PTT6.5X04-NLA-10 and works with two 6.5-inch PURIFI passive radiators. Compared with the smaller 4-inch model, it adds 7 dB of sensitivity and reaches 5 Hz lower in the bass, at the cost of almost double the weight. The crossover hands over to the AMT tweeter at 2,400 Hz. Frequency response is quoted as 35 Hz to 20,000 Hz within 3 dB. Sensitivity is 85 dB at 2.83 V, which Radiant equates to about 1 W into 8 ohm, and nominal impedance is 4 ohm. Power handling reaches 250 W. The cabinet measures 222 mm wide, 364 mm high and 266 mm deep, and each speaker weighs 10.8 kg. Finish options at launch were six-layer lacquer in black or in white, plus walnut veneer. Radiant sells matching stands with angled top plates separately to set the tweeter at a suitable height.

Engineering and use context

Walls are made from 21 mm MDF and the front is a 15 mm aluminium baffle, forming a stiff sandwich where the drivers mount. The two passive radiators are set up in a push-pull arrangement so that their movements cancel mechanical forces on the enclosure. A waveguide around the AMT tweeter controls dispersion, and Basotect foam from BASF damps the interior. The crossover network relies on inductors with air cores. Since no reflex tube is used, the speaker has no vent noise or rear opening to think about, and its size still allows placement on stands in a space of about 20 m2. The brand gives a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects and offers a 30-day home trial on direct orders.

Pairing

Radiant sets a minimum amplifier rating of 100 W, so a compact low-power amplifier is not a good fit. A solid-state integrated amplifier or a power amplifier that holds up into a low-impedance load and offers healthy current is the sensible route. Because the woofer and radiators come from PURIFI, an amplifier based on PURIFI Eigentakt modules is a technology match, but any design meeting the stated power figure will drive it.

Alternatives

The Radiant Acoustics Clarity 4.2 is the compact standmount sibling, built around a 4-inch PURIFI mid-woofer flanked by a pair of passive radiators in a 5.6 kg box.
