The W1S is a full-size ANC headphone for Bluetooth listening from Whizzer, the Chinese headphone brand. Its styling follows a classic American theme drawn from mid-century furniture, with metal accents and a brown finish on the cups and headband. The W1S works in two modes - wireless over Bluetooth, or wired through a cable when the battery is not in use.

Key specs that matter

Both cups use 40 mm dynamic drivers that Whizzer tuned for extended high-frequency output, and the headphone holds JAS Hi-Res certification. Whizzer states a frequency range that reaches up to 40 kHz, and the rated impedance is 32 ohm. The wireless link uses Bluetooth 5.3. A 1000 mAh battery supplies up to 130 hours of listening with noise cancelling switched off, and more than 80 hours with it active. A 5-minute top-up brings around 3 hours of playback. The earpads are filled with memory foam, and the headset has an integrated microphone for phone calls, plus a volume control.

Engineering and use context

Whizzer designed the noise cancelling circuit to give a softer and more natural reduction of outside noise rather than chasing the highest possible suppression figure. Physical buttons are integrated directly into the earcups and give access to power, volume, track skipping and the ANC setting without reaching for the phone. A dedicated low-latency mode called MultiAccelerator 2.1 keeps W1S audio closer in step with on-screen action, which is aimed at mobile gaming and video playback. The large battery is the main technical point of the design - the W1S can run for weeks of daily commuting between charges. In the box, Whizzer supplies a charging cable and a printed user manual alongside the headphone itself.

Pairing

In wireless mode the W1S pairs with Bluetooth phones, tablets and computers, and a source with Bluetooth 5.3 matches the headphone's own radio version. In wired mode, the low impedance is easy for the headphone outputs of laptops, portable music players and desktop amps for headphones, so the W1S can also be plugged into a hi-fi system with a headphone socket or used on a plane with the cable.

Alternatives

The Whizzer 1969S is a lighter wireless on-ear alternative with a long-stroke driver and Bluetooth 6.0, though it has no active noise cancelling.
