The SOLIS II is a tribrid in-ear monitor made by Moondrop, combining three driver technologies in each earpiece. Its housing is built as a silver cavity, whereas most in-ear designs use resin or aluminium shells.

Key specs that matter

Each side carries two 10mm dynamic drivers, two balanced armature drivers and four electrostatic drivers, split by a three-way crossover. Impedance is 10 ohms at 1kHz and sensitivity is 121dB/Vrms at 1kHz. Moondrop quotes a full frequency range of 7Hz to 40kHz and an effective range of 20Hz to 20kHz within 3dB, and THD of 0.5% or less at 1kHz.

Engineering and use context

Inside, the pair of dynamic units are set in a horizontally opposed arrangement. The cable detaches via 0.78mm two-pin connectors and ends in a 3.5mm single-ended plug, while adapters for 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm terminations are supplied along with silicone and foam ear tips in several sizes.
