ROSESELSA designed the OpenFree as a ring-style clip-on earphone that rests on the outer ear and leaves the ear canal unblocked, so the wearer keeps hearing traffic, colleagues and announcements. ROSESELSA now sells it as the OPENFEEL, with a regular price of USD 45.99, in Black, Green and White. It is the only open-ear model in the brand's current wireless range, positioned for running, workouts and all-day wear at a desk.

Key specs that matter

Every earpiece houses a 10 mm Planck dynamic driver with a composite topology diaphragm. Impedance is 32 ohm and the quoted response covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Bluetooth 5.4 supports LDAC, LHDC, LC3, AAC and SBC across a range of 10 m. Each earpiece has a 45 mAh battery and the case a 500 mAh battery, good for up to 10 hours of play per charge and up to 52 hours including case top-ups. In game mode the LC3 link cuts latency to 20 ms. The housings are rated IPX4 against splashes and sweat, and the stems carry an Open Free logo.

Engineering and use context

Because the driver sits outside the canal, spill to people nearby is the main design issue, and ROSESELSA addresses it with Acoustic Beamforming 3.0, which it says reduces sound leakage by more than 99 percent. A Cadence HiFi DSP chip runs what the maker calls equal-loudness contour technology. An OpenHealth hearing protection algorithm is also built in, alongside an AI call noise reduction algorithm for the microphones. The flexible stems are made of soft antibacterial silicone and the earshells of plastic, and the 3D ergonomic shape is meant to hold the buds in place during movement without pressure inside the ear. The earbuds recharge in about 0.53 hours, while the case needs about 1.77 hours to refill.

Pairing

The OpenFree links wirelessly to a phone, tablet or laptop, and its multipoint feature lets a pair of sources stay linked together. Sources that support LDAC or LHDC can use those high-resolution codecs, while AAC and SBC cover everything else. The companion app carries no advertising, lets owners reassign the touch controls and offers two sound presets, but it has no custom equaliser. There is no active noise cancelling, since the open design is built around awareness of the surroundings rather than isolation, and no wired input or external amplifier is involved.
