The HA-1A MK3 is designed for headphones with an impedance ranging from 8 to 600 ohms. The switch on the front panel divides the ranges into 8-150 and 151-600 ohms, allowing the amplifier to be matched with different models. Through a standard 3.5‑mm output, the device delivers up to 2.5 W + 2.5 W, while the balanced 4‑pin XLR connection increases the output to 2.8 W + 2.8 W.
