The Line Magnetic AM-2 is a monoblock tube amplifier from the maker's Analog Series. It is a single-ended design built around the 300B directly heated triode, one channel per chassis, so stereo playback requires two of them.

Engineering and use context

Single-ended operation means one output tube drives the output transformer on its own, without a push-pull partner. Line Magnetic builds its tube electronics in the tradition of American audio designs of the 1950s, and the 300B is the valve most closely associated with that era. Amplifiers of this type deliver modest output, so the AM-2 is best matched with high-sensitivity loudspeakers such as horn systems.
