Turntables — J.Sikora STANDARD MAX WHITE

The J.Sikora Standard MAX White is a white edition of the Polish maker's Standard MAX belt-drive turntable, a heavy mass-loaded design built from aluminium, brass, bronze, copper and stainless steel.

Key specs that matter

Weighing 18 kg, the platter is made of Delrin and cast iron and is topped by a glass-crystal mat intended to damp vibration. Drive comes from two DC motors via a belt, with speeds of 33 and 45 rpm. The platter is supported by an inverted bearing running on a ceramic ball. The complete deck weighs 83 kg and measures 620 x 350 x 410 mm.

Engineering and use context

The plinth can carry up to two tonearms. The package includes an armboard, a record clamp, the glass mat and a power supply, and a basic linear supply comes as standard with an upgraded supply offered as an option. No tonearm or cartridge is included in the base configuration, which ships with one arm tower.
