The VPI Industries S-Tonearm does not have a traditional azimuth adjustment - instead, a rotation head shell system is used, in which the shell rotates, locks in any position and ensures the adjustment of the height of the needle above the vinyl record. The tonearm does not use a "tube" as the previous company’s tonearms - instead, a thin arm made of milled aluminum is used.
