Originally introduced as the SR-007 and later updated to the SR-007A, this third-generation model retains the signature round earcup body and open-back design, but includes significant upgrades, many of which are inspired by STAX’s current flagship, the SR-X9000. At the heart of the STAX SR-007S are redesigned internal components, including a new diaphragm and fixed electrode structure. STAX engineers have reduced the diameter of the vents by 20% compared to previous generations using a precision etching process. This change optimizes airflow and improves acoustic output, delivering greater clarity and resolution without sacrificing the signature warm, rich sound of the 007 series.

    Stax SR-003MK2

The SR-003MK2 is a portable in-ear earphone with a 5-pin PRO connector that can be used when connected to a headphone amplifier with a 5-pin PRO output connector. The redesigned SR-003 ear canal type structure allows you to enjoy excellent electrostatic sound quality without covering your ears. The SR-003MK2 is connected to devices or with a STAX adapter equipped with a 5-pin PRO bias output.

The Stax SR-L300 also used rigid, fixed electrodes treated with stencil photo etching. Thus, the rich deep bass response, subtle treble and smoothing midrange were implemented in a balanced manner. The Stax SR-L300 headband is equipped with a sliding mechanism for height adjustment.

For added convenience of use and comfort when listening to music, the Stax SR-L500MKII model has an easily removable cable, as well as a U-shaped holder of sound-emitting capsules made of aluminum. The replaceable, easy-to-remove cable was designed to meet current trends in high-end headphone design, making it possible to quickly replace the high-definition cable to enhance their usability.

The ear pads of the model are filled with memory-effect material and trimmed with soft sheepskin. The developers claimed a frequency range from 7 Hz to 41,000 Hz with an impedance of 145 kOhm and a sound pressure of 101 dB / 100 V RMS. The weight of the headphones is quite small — only 234 grams.

Exceptional precision and power "Incredible depth and dynamism with a high level of sensitivity to expressive sound elements is a unique property of Stax electrostatic headphones." This thesis was used as a basis for the development of the Stax SR-007 Mk2 (OMEGA II) model. Numerical aperture is the most important aspect that determines sound quality.
