Dan Clark Audio has introduced a new version of the closed-back planar Dan Clark Audio Noire X headphones equipped with an advanced Acoustic Metamaterial Tuning System (AMTS), previously present only in the brand's top-end Stealth, Expanse, E3 and Corina range.
The AMTS system uses advanced metamaterial design concepts to shape the frequency response of the system, while eliminating high-frequency standing waves, which are responsible for the synthetic sound of high frequencies, characteristic of too many headphone models. The headphones are fully tuned to match the Harman curve.
The Dan Clark Audio Noire X headphones use an upgraded planar Æon driver. The manufacturer claims that the new driver is significantly stiffer than its predecessor, with superior consistency between units and reduced distortion. The special chic of the headphones is given by the new Gorilla Glass 3 coating on the earcups.
