The Audio Research D-80 power amplifier is made in a fully balanced differential circuit design. The signal path remains balanced from the input to the acoustic terminals. The operation of the lamps of the output stages in the pentode mode provides higher output power, while, according to the developers, a controlled and structured sound is maintained.
