Top 5 best integrated amplifiers for different budgets – from Hi-Fi to High End
Choosing an integrated amplifier of both Hi-Fi and High End class can be a simple matter with our new article-rating of the best modern devices in this category. The future-proof engineering solutions and outstanding sound are achievable today in different price segments.
A new integrated amplifier from the British company Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 600.2 scheduled for release since January 2025. The device is fully consistent with the brand's philosophy and uses a massive design with a dual mono configuration, a solid power supply, preamplifier and power-amp filtering and the use of Class-A tube stage consisting of nuvistor tubes.
The Musical Fidelity M6 500i amplifier has a power of 500 watts per channel with an impedance of 8 ohms. The latest electrical circuit provides unsurpassed stability and linearity. The distortion is extremely small, at 0.008% at 1 kHz and 0.015% at 20 kHz. But what is even more significant is the low distortion at ultra-high frequencies. For example, at 30 kHz they are 0.02%, and at 50 kHz they are 0.2%. Its impeccable linearity and solid power reserve allow this amplifier to work with any speaker system.
Internally, the M6si is configured as 2 independent monoblock power amplifiers with a separate preamp. In fact, it's a preamp with 2 monoblock power amplifiers that just happen to share the same case. It uses technology taken from our legendary 1kW TITAN power amplifier. And the combination of high power, high current and exceptional stability of the M6 means that it can easily control any speaker.
The Musical Fidelity M6cd integrated amplifier is built according to a three-block circuit consisting of two identical power amplifiers and a monoblock preamp. The power amplifiers and the preamp unit are powered from separate sources with powerful filtering capacitors. Despite the monoblock design of the preamp, engineers have taken special measures to ensure maximum identity of the characteristics of the left and right channels.
The DAC unit is based on PCM5242 chips from Texas Instruments, which allows processing digital streams with parameters up to 24 bits / 192 kHz. In addition to a pair of coaxial and a pair of optical digital inputs (optical inputs are limited in resolution to 24 bits / 96 kHz), the Musical Fidelity M8xi is equipped with a USB type B port for connecting a computer.
The output power of each channel of the Musical Fidelity A1 amplifier is 28 watts. The novelty is equipped with a phono corrector for pickup heads with both a movable magnet (MM) and a movable coil (MC).
