Description, images, technical data and specifications

The I-280 is an integrated amplifier from Aavik that closely matches the I-580 in output but has a wider rated bandwidth. It shares much of the core engineering of the I-580 while offering a different input impedance and a higher damping factor. Aavik's integrated range also includes the I-188 and the U-301 Unity.

Key specs that matter

All five inputs are single-ended. Input impedance is 50 kOhm, considerably higher than the 10 kOhm of the I-580. The I-280 delivers 300 W into 8 ohms and 600 W into 4 ohms, exactly the same as the I-580. Bandwidth is rated from 10 Hz to 50 kHz, distortion is 0.005% and the damping factor exceeds 1000. The case is 400 x 384 x 102 mm, and at 9 kg the I-280 is lighter than the I-580.

Pairing

With power that doubles as impedance halves, the I-280 is a sensible match for demanding or low-sensitivity speakers.

Alternatives

The I-580 is the closest sibling in the Aavik range.
