Reed SF is an optical cartridge that differs from traditional magnetic pickups in that it lacks coils and magnets. Although the head has a needle that reads information from the track of a vinyl record, its movements are tracked by a laser-based optical system, which minimizes mechanical interference and pressure on the record.

Reed EQ is a phono corrector designed specifically for optical pickups. It provides RIAA correction and is equipped with a switch for playback of monaural recordings. There are unbalanced RCA analog outputs and balanced XLR outputs, which provides flexibility for integration into various audio systems.
