The player uses a hybrid architecture combining a 20-bit R2R based on a resistive ladder and a 4-bit DAC from a chain of resistors. The 8-channel fully differential discrete R2R, internally developed FPGA-Master 3.0 algorithms and hardware compensation scheme provide a dynamic range of 130 dB and an overall nonlinear distortion factor of better than -97 dB.
The flagship iBasso DX340 music player comes with a 486-gram stainless steel chassis as standard, but in the Titanium Limited Edition model it has been replaced with a CNC-made titanium one.
The iBasso PB6 Macaw headphone amplifier is not limited to the tube mode only: the amplifier also offers a transistor mode in the AB class. As already mentioned, the tube mode uses an architecture of four vacuum tubes to produce rich and musical sound; the Class AB mode uses four BUF634A operational amplifiers for high-precision transistor amplification. Both modes have their own character and "taste", offering audiophiles different sound options.
