Grado Labs realizes Signature HP100 SE Headphones – High End model with redesigned 52 mm dynamic driver based on a paper composite cone, aluminum voice coil and high-flux magnetic circuit. This circuit uses rare earth alloys and improves dynamics of sound. More benefits of the new headphone model are deep bass and low distortion.
The Grado Signature S950 earcups are made from Brazilian walnut, rather than aluminum in the HP100 SE, making for a lighter design, weighing in at 395 grams. GThe wood is resistant to environmental changes, which helps ensure consistent acoustics. Each pair of earphones is individually crafted, and no two pairs have the same wood grain.
The design is based on the 50 mm dynamic S2 driver, optimized for operation in a solid Brazil nut housing. Grado engineers focused not on developing a new radiator, but on correcting the acoustic interaction between the existing driver and the wooden body. According to the manufacturer's technical documentation, this solution allows you to shift the tonal balance towards a warmer and smoother sound, while maintaining the brand's characteristic dynamics and spatial openness.
