Linn describes its new Linn 360 acoustic systems as a development from scratch, which uses «New cabinet. New drive units. New electronics. New everything». The innovative speakers are truly amazing – both in their appearance and in the large-scale sound, literally breaking our ideas about the physical capabilities of cabinets and drivers of this size.
Linn 360 were created to turn out our lowest ever levels of audible distortion – and to convey music as it is, without distortion, coloration, with the highest possible level of detail. For this, specially rounded cabinets made of 3D-laminate with a teardrop profile were developed – so that the dispersion of sound is impeccable. The picture is completed by a waveguide covering three drivers - it is made of 5754-grade aluminum, and the drivers are mounted flush, so that the sound dispersion is optimal.
Linn 360 speakers are available in both an active version (with an Exakt digital crossover and integrated Linn amplification) and in a traditional Passive with Active Bass (PWAB) version, which allows for experimentation with the selection of amplifiers. Linn 360 PWAB can be easily upgraded to active inclusion - by adding an external Linn Exakt crossover featuring Klimax Exaktbox to the system.
The passive version of Linn 360 uses a four-way scheme - 60-liter cabinets with a height of 1141 mm and a weight of 70 kg each include a 19 mm proprietary dome tweeter, also a dome midrange 64 mm thin-ply woven carbon dome, an upper-bass driver 190 mm with an aluminum / magnesium diaphragm and a pair of long-stroke 220 mm aluminum cone woofers.
The heart of Linn 360 is the latest technology of adaptive bias current control of the amplifier (if we are talking about the active version). Adaptive bias control eliminates distortion introduced by the amplification section, adjusting the sound in real time and providing optimal sound in any scenario.
The bass of the Linn 360 is provided by the proprietary Bass System with Power DAC Technology - another proprietary technology that combines the DAC and amplifier into a single assembly and radically reduces losses along the signal path - now it is as short as possible. The movement of the speakers and their control over the entire amplitude are standards.
When using the active version of Linn 360, you also get all the benefits of Exakt technology, which ensures the perfect time alignment and the room correction option. The proprietary Space Optimisation system removes the unwanted distorting effects of your listening environment.
The block of high-frequency, midrange and upper-bass speakers 360 Array in the case of the active version is amplified by its own built-in amplification Class A / B with Adaptive Bias Control, and in the passive version, the amplification scheme is selected by the user. At the same time, the analog crossover also allows separate amplification
Listening to Linn 360 at the High End Munich 2025 exhibition was organized in a complete proprietary system - with a Klimax LP12 vinyl turntable, a Klimax DSM streamer and band-pass amplification based on the latest Linn Klimax Solo 500 amplifiers (class A/B with adaptive bias current control!).
From the very first chords, the Linn 360 speakers offer the recognizable sound signature of the cult British company - rhythmic, transparent and filled with energy. However, delving a little deeper into listening, it becomes clear that the family traits in the new acoustics are generously flavored with new elements - much higher resolution and stunningly accurate localization.
Emotionally rich symphonic works in the case of the Linn 360 literally come to life - timbre accuracy together with holographic formation of the scene easily creates the effect of the first row in the conservatory, and the frantic overload capacity allows you to easily work out fortissimo.
A powerful energy charge is preserved in modern music - the Linn 360 literally penetrates the soul of each recording and masterfully works out every nuance. This presentation allows you not to dissect the melodies into details, but simply enjoy them and get real pleasure - the combination of microdynamics with the muscles of macrodynamics opens a portal for the listener in which there are no thoughts and worries. And there is only pure music.
Linn 360 are very impressive loudspeakers that belong to the true High-End class. The charming and full-bodied sound is mesmerizing, and the flexibility of upgrades allows us to hope that the speakers may well become the final point in the choice. Our hot recommendations.
