The Wilson Benesch GRAVITON Ti Tonearm Dohmann Edition is a joint project of Wilson Benesch and Dohmann Audio, adapting the 12-inch GRAVITON Ti arm for Dohmann turntables. The GRAVITON Ti was unveiled at High End Munich 2025, and shipments were scheduled to begin in Q4 2025. In its standard matt titanium form the arm was priced at GBP 30,000, EUR 39,500 or USD 45,000, and polished silver and polished gold titanium finishes are offered as upgrades.

Key specs that matter

The arm comes only in the 12-inch size, with an overall length of 416 mm and an effective length of 304.8 mm. Mounting distance is 291.6 mm, overhang 13.2 mm and offset angle 18 degrees. Effective mass is 14 g, and the maker places no restriction on cartridge weight. Internal wiring is 4N silver with Teflon insulation, ending in a 5-pin DIN connector, and a 1.5 m phono cable is included.

Engineering and use context

The armtube is a quad-helix carbon fibre tube in a graphene-reinforced matrix with a Rohacell core and viscoelastic damping, and unidirectional fibres are placed selectively to control damping and energy transfer. Counterbalance and pivot parts are grown in titanium by Selective Laser Sintering, mixing hollow, tessellated and solid sections. Lattices inside keep stiffness high at low weight, while unsintered titanium powder left in the cavities absorbs vibration and the layout sets the centre of gravity. A kinematic bearing locates the arm at three points - two zirconium balls and one conductive steel ball - to avoid Brinelling. Tracking force is set in two stages, first by sliding the large counterweight and then with an internal fine screw. Azimuth also has two stages, an offset counterweight for coarse changes and an internal cross-screw for the final correction. Arm height and stylus rake angle are set with a collar on a hardened steel post, since the piezo-driven VTA drive of the Wilson Benesch turntables is not available on this edition. For the Dohmann version the supporting structure was redesigned to fit a Dohmann floating armboard, and a Mk3 Dohmann Advanced Composite Armboard is supplied.

Pairing

This effective mass suits medium-compliance moving coil cartridges. Overhang and offset are preset for Wilson Benesch cartridges, including the TESSELLATE Ti series with its SLS FIN interface, while other makes are aligned through the headshell slots.
