At just 44.5 mm tall it fits on a shelf or under a television, and a multi-orientation wall bracket with metal screws and rubber pads is included in the box.

Music libraries on a network share are indexed over SMB up to 200,000 files, and a USB Type A port reads FAT32 drives directly. An HDMI eARC connection takes audio from a TV, and digital optical and analogue inputs accept other sources. Networking uses Gigabit RJ45 Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi 5. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD is two-way, so a phone can send music in and wireless headphones can receive the output, as there is no wired headphone socket. A capacitive touch panel on top offers play, pause, volume and track skip with LED status lights. A front IR sensor can learn an existing remote, the optional RC1 handset is sold separately, and a 3.5 mm jack accepts an external IR receiver.

Pairing

The 5-way binding posts suit small to medium passive speakers of reasonable efficiency, and a dedicated subwoofer output makes room for a powered sub under compact bookshelf models. Tone adjustments are made in the BluOS Controller app rather than on the unit itself. In a 20 m2 room the EDGE fits a TV and music setup where one box replaces a separate streamer and amplifier.
