The 3000 Micro R|Evolution is a compact sealed subwoofer from SVS, the American company whose 3000 R|Evolution series also contains the SB-3000 R|Evolution and PB-3000 R|Evolution. It was launched at AXPONA 2026 at USD 999.99, in Piano Gloss Black and Piano Gloss White, and SVS covers it with a five-year warranty. The cabinet is cube-shaped, and SVS states that its amplifier delivers 50 percent more continuous power than the previous generation of the Micro.

Key specs that matter

Two opposing side-firing 9 inch long-throw drivers work electrically and mechanically in parallel, with 27.3 mm Xmax and 32.6 mm Xmech. Its Class D amplifier delivers 1,200 W continuous and more than 4,000 W peak. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 230 Hz within 3 dB, measured on a 2 metre ground plane. With grilles the subwoofer measures 278 mm high, 298.8 mm wide and 273.6 mm deep and weighs 10.2 kg. Inputs are unbalanced RCA with 10 kohm impedance and balanced XLR with 18 kohm impedance, both accepting up to 4 Vrms. THD+N is below 0.05 percent at rated power.

Engineering and use context

Because the two drivers fire in opposite directions, their mechanical forces cancel, which keeps the small cabinet still at high output. Each driver has a one-piece 1100 aluminium cone and coupler, a four-layer copper voice coil on a 3003-H18 aluminium former, an overhung Y30 ferrite motor with a low-carbon 08AL steel T-yoke, a 6063 aluminium shorting ring, an injection-moulded NBR surround and a 5 inch composite spider. The amplifier output stage uses four 60 A 200 V MOSFETs in full bridge and can swing more than 100 Vrms across both drivers, fed by an LLC resonant switch-mode supply regulated to a 160 V rail. A 295 MHz Analog Devices processor with 56-bit filtering monitors power, excursion and current thousands of times per second. The Bluetooth app for iOS, Android and Fire devices sets volume, low-pass filter, phase, polarity and six parametric EQ bands, with three memory presets. The MDF cabinet is internally braced, steel mesh grilles protect the drivers, and screw-in elastomer feet support it. A rear OLED panel has a Display Flip function, and standby draw is 0.5 W.

The balanced and unbalanced inputs suit an AV receiver, a preamplifier or an integrated amplifier with a subwoofer output. A USB port powers the optional SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter, and 3.5 mm trigger and IR inputs allow integration with control systems.
