Напольная акустика — RossoFiorentino Siena 2

The Siena 2 is a floorstanding loudspeaker in the Icone series from Rosso Fiorentino Audio, an Italian maker of passive loudspeakers, and it belongs to the second series of the Siena model. Rosso Fiorentino presents this model as a reference design for medium-sized rooms, built around a sealed three-way cabinet that carries five drivers, including a ribbon unit intended to extend the upper range well beyond the audio band.

Key specs that matter

Rosso Fiorentino quotes a frequency response of 35 Hz to 100 kHz within plus or minus 3 dB. Sensitivity is 87 dB SPL measured at 2.83 V and 1 m. Nominal impedance is 6 ohm, with a stated minimum of 4.4 ohm. The recommended amplifier power range is 100 to 300 W into 8 ohm. Each cabinet stands 1204 mm tall, 413 mm wide and 466 mm deep, and weighs 68 kg. The crossover divides the signal at 200 Hz, 2.2 kHz and 30 kHz.

Engineering and use context

Of the five drivers, low frequencies are handled by a pair of 200 mm woofers with aluminium cones. A 165 mm paper-cone midrange covers the band between the two lower crossover points. Above the middle crossover point a 28 mm silk dome tweeter of Italian manufacture takes over, with a damping treatment applied to the dome. The top band is assigned to a ribbon ultrasonic generator designed by Rosso Fiorentino itself. The enclosure is a closed box rather than a ported one, with no reflex opening on any panel, a choice the maker links to phase coherence across the listening area. Cabinet walls use a multi-layer composite of aluminium panels, HDF fibreboard and internal damping material. The top module and the front panel around the woofers are covered in leather, while the woofer module is finished in high-gloss automotive paint.

Pairing

Given the moderate sensitivity and the low impedance minimum, the maker's power recommendation points to a solid amplifier comfortable with a demanding load. Low-output single-ended triode designs sit far below the stated lower limit of that range. Owners who plan a full system around the Siena 2 will find that Rosso Fiorentino builds its range only as passive loudspeakers, so amplification and sources always come from other makers.
