The Quatro Wood CT Evo is a powered-bass four-way tower made by Vandersteen Audio of Hanford, California, built on the technology of the Quatro Wood CT. Vandersteen moved the high-pass crossover inside the cabinet, so the speaker can run from an integrated amplifier or a home theater receiver. It was set to ship in late summer 2025, with a starting price of USD 23,900 per pair, with duty, taxes and freight extra.

A 1 inch carbon dome tweeter with a dual-chamber transmission-line load and ferrofluid voice-coil cooling sits above a patented 4.5 inch Reflection-Free mid driver whose cone is a tri-woven composite on a die-cast frame. Next comes a 6.5 inch mid-woofer, its cone of woven fiber and its magnet assembly fitted with a copper Faraday ring, and two side-firing 8 inch CounterForce subwoofers with carbon-loaded cellulose cones and long-throw motors handle the bottom. The tweeter comes from the Model 5A Carbon. Vandersteen describes the Evo as an upgrade route for owners of the Treo, Quatro Cloth or Quatro Wood. Input is through barrier strips that take connectors up to 11 mm wide, and each pair is handcrafted in the USA. Standard veneers are Walnut, Oak, Maple, Macadamia, Cherry, Light Walnut, Mahogany Walnut, Dark Oak, Faux Ebony and Black, with Birdseye Maple, Ebony, Kewazinga, Makore, Pine, Purple Heart, Rosewood, Sapele, Wenga and Zebrawood offered at extra cost.

Pairing

Vandersteen asks for 40 to 200 watts into 8 ohms and a bi-wire run from the amplifier, with no external crossover in the chain. For a system powered entirely by the factory, the brand lists its M5-HPA high-pass amplifier, sold at USD 21,000 per pair with a 76 cm HPA interface cable included, so a preamplifier can connect straight to it.
