The ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature is the first three-way loudspeaker from Sonoro of Neuss, Germany, and the opening model of the brand's Signature Line, a higher-end series that also takes in a streaming amplifier and a turntable. It was launched at the 2025 High End exhibition in Munich and developed together with Karl-Heinz Fink, whose FinkTeam supplied optimised drivers and a new crossover. Sonoro calls it the slimmest floorstanding speaker it has developed. The European price was EUR 2,998 per pair, the US price USD 3,000, and deliveries began on 25 November 2025.
Key specs that matter
Sonoro fits four drivers per cabinet. Two 5.25 inch woofers with composite cones, rubber surrounds, die-cast baskets and 35.5 mm voice coils cover the bass, and a third 5.25 inch composite cone with a fabric surround and the same voice coil size handles the midrange. Above 2,700 Hz a neodymium-driven Air Motion Transformer takes over, with a folded membrane area of about 85 cm2. The lower crossover point is 300 Hz, and both transitions use fourth order Linkwitz-Riley filters. Sonoro quotes a range of 35 Hz to 24 kHz at minus 6 dB, a sensitivity of 88 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, and a nominal 4 ohm impedance that falls to a minimum of 3.6 ohm at 37 Hz. Recommended amplifier power starts at 50 W.
Engineering and use context
High density fibreboard forms the enclosure, and FinkTeam adjusted the internal damping and compartments during development. A tapered baffle carries the drivers, and the front panel around the Air Motion Transformer was redesigned for this model. The body is hand-polished with rounded edges and a matt finish, with aluminium details, in black matte or white matte with silver accents. Without its feet the speaker is about 180 mm wide, 968 mm high and 350 mm deep, while the feet widen the footprint to 280 mm and bring the height to 1,041 mm. Each unit weighs about 23.8 kg. A bass reflex port tunes the enclosure, and high quality screw terminals take the cable, which suits a living room of around 20 m2.
Pairing
Its impedance dip in the deepest octave calls for electronics that remain stable with low impedances at the bottom of the range. Sonoro presents the MAESTRO Quantum Signature streaming amplifier from the same Signature Line as the matching electronics.
Alternatives
The Sonoro GRAND ORCHESTRA is the brand's two-way floorstanding alternative, using two 6 inch woofers with double magnets and an Air Motion Transformer.
