The M.U.S.A. is a four-way floorstanding loudspeaker from Omega Audio Concepts, the Italian company whose research began in 2001 when co-owner Renato Filippini designed his first loudspeaker, and which was founded formally in 2013. Omega builds complete systems from source to loudspeaker, and the M.U.S.A. is its speaker for medium to large rooms. The name stands for Music Under Silence Accomplishment and refers to the muses of mythology.
Key specs that matter
Pairs of mid-bass and mid-high drivers are arranged symmetrically. The woofer is mounted in the side wall. The cabinet is built entirely from aluminium blocks machined from solid, with thicknesses from 50 to 20 mm. Front drivers have spherical dome diaphragms in magnesium-aluminium alloy, and the tweeter dome is titanium. The crossover is external, built with Omega's patented filter technology, and connects through Omega's ELEMENTS system with NANO Extra cable, upgradable to The ELEMENT. Sensitivity is 90 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, and response extends from 30 Hz to 20 kHz within 3 dB. Each speaker weighs 160 kg and each external crossover 28 kg. Chassis colours and details can be customised.
Engineering and use context
Omega's design principles treat music as a space-time event and aim to minimise resistance along the signal path, following Ohm's law, which leads to its patented wiring system and crossover filter. Placing each pair above and below the tweeter keeps the vertical dispersion symmetrical around it. The front of the cabinet is shaped to reduce the acoustic load on the front drivers, so that their output approaches the ideal of a rigid piston, and spherical dome diaphragms in light, stiff alloys support this. The solid metal walls make a very rigid, inert enclosure. Mounting the woofer on the side wall frees the front baffle for the mid and treble drivers and lets the bass radiate into the room without affecting the front array. An external crossover keeps the filter components out of the cabinet's vibration and magnetic fields and leaves more internal volume for the drivers. Omega's range also includes the Easy One, and the company shows complete systems with its Stream CD player and amplifiers. It was shown at High End Munich 2025.
Pairing
The M.U.S.A. suits rooms of 30 to 50 m2. Omega's own electronics and NANO cables form a matched system.
Alternatives
Omega Audio Concepts' Essenziale is the brand's four-way loudspeaker for medium-sized rooms.
