Напольная акустика — Lyritech Magic 10 Galeano Plus

The Magic 10 Galeano Plus is a single-driver floorstanding loudspeaker from Lyritech, made by Lyric Audio Elite S.L. of Aguilar de Campoo in the Spanish province of Palencia, which was founded in 1982 by Daniel and Francisco and builds high-sensitivity speakers around full-range paper-cone drivers. The model's own manual spells it Gaelano. The price in December 2024 was EUR 9,200 including VAT, against EUR 8,900 for the version without Plus. Lyritech's range also includes the MoonRiver floorstanders and the Riverside stand-mount speakers.

Key specs that matter

A single 10 inch full-range driver covers the whole range without a crossover, in a cabinet of selected solid wood with an internal volume of 257 litres. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz, sensitivity is 96 dB at 1 W and 1 m, impedance is 8 ohm, and Lyritech recommends at least 7 W of amplifier power, with a weight of 80 kg per speaker. Each speaker measures 380 mm wide, 1300 mm high and 520 mm deep. Optional bases are made of Silestone or of polymer with suspension.

Engineering and use context

Without a crossover, the amplifier connects straight to one driver, so no filter components sit in the signal path and there is no point where two drivers hand over. Lyritech states that this preserves phase and timing coherence across the range. A 10 inch cone is large for a full-range driver, which helps it produce bass, and the 257 litre cabinet supports the low end. Paper cones are light and damped, which suits a driver that must also reproduce high frequencies. The high sensitivity means very little amplifier power is needed, and the manual names a 300B valve amplifier of about 8 W as suitable. The solid wood cabinet needs care, and the manual advises keeping it out of direct sun and at moderate humidity. The Silestone or suspended polymer bases decouple the heavy cabinet from the floor.

Pairing

Single-ended valve amplifiers such as 300B or 2A3 designs of a few watts are the natural partners, as are low-powered solid-state amplifiers.

Alternatives

The Lyritech Magic 8 uses an 8 inch full-range driver in a 192 litre cabinet with 93 dB sensitivity.
