The LOUNGE 2.5 is a 2.5-way floorstanding loudspeaker from the Danish maker OePhi, and its distributor describes it as the floorstanding evolution of the LOUNGE 2, with an additional woofer in a larger cabinet. Like the rest of the Lounge range, OePhi's most affordable line, it made its debut at High End Munich 2025. OePhi's floorstanders comprise the LOUNGE 2.5, Ascendance 2.5, Transcendence 2.5 and Immanence 2.5 and the Ref3.5 reference model, all 2.5-way designs except the Ref3.5. Airt Audio distributes the brand in the UK, and Actual Hifi in the Benelux countries and France. The price is GBP 4,495, EUR 4,990 or USD 5,800 per pair.

Key specs that matter

Two paper-cone woofers and one metal-dome tweeter are arranged as a 2.5-way system in a reflex-ported cabinet. In-room bandwidth is 35 Hz to 27 kHz and in-room sensitivity 89.5 dB. Nominal impedance is 6 ohm, and power handling is 150 W of music programme, twice the figure of the stand-mount model. Each speaker is 100 cm high, 18.5 cm wide and 30 cm deep and weighs 15 kg. Finishes are Oak, Walnut, Black Ash and Satin White.

Engineering and use context

In a 2.5-way design both woofers cover the bass, and the upper one alone carries on through the midrange to meet the tweeter. The two cones together give more bass area and output than the single woofer of the stand-mount, which accounts for the lower bass limit and the higher sensitivity. Keeping only one woofer in the midrange avoids the interference that two drivers covering the same upper frequencies would cause. The crossover is soldered point to point and follows OePhi's time-compensated, low-energy-storage topology with its Transient Integrity circuitry. The internal wiring is solid core. The Low Energy Storage cabinet has tuned internal volumes and reflex porting, and OePhi adds a proprietary hard-decoupling grounding system that couples the cabinet firmly to the floor. The narrow front keeps the footprint small, and the extra height provides the volume for the second woofer. The speakers are handmade in Denmark. OePhi was founded in 2021 by Joakim Juhl and started with cables before building loudspeakers.

Pairing

The moderate impedance and good sensitivity make the LOUNGE 2.5 an easy load for most integrated amplifiers, from about 50 W upwards, in rooms of about 20 m2 or larger. The rear-facing reflex porting needs some distance from the wall.
