The Evo Two is a floorstanding loudspeaker from AVID HiFi, the British company founded by Conrad Mas and known for its turntables. Launched in August 2025, in AVID's 30th anniversary year, it became the largest of the three-model Evo series above the Evo Three, and it is designed and hand-built at AVID's Cambridgeshire facility. It debuted at the Taiwan International TAA Hi-End Audio Show in August 2025.

Key specs that matter

It is a 3.5-way design with a 28 mm Acuflex hand-coated soft dome tweeter, two 160 mm midrange drivers with 75 mm titanium voice-coil formers and a 250 mm low-frequency driver. Frequency response is 28 Hz to 20 kHz within 3 dB. Sensitivity is 86 dB at 2.83 V, impedance 4 ohms, and recommended amplifier power is 60 to 250 W. The speaker measures 1060 x 290 x 449 mm with height first, and each weighs 42 kg. Finishes are black or gloss white, with brushed anodised aluminium front and rear panels. Pricing was EUR 34,995 or USD 38,995 per pair.

Engineering and use context

The drivers are mounted on a rigid brushed anodised aluminium baffle and rear plate, precision-machined in AVID's own factory, with a 20 mm solid aluminium front baffle, and the cabinet is made by hand from 18 mm MRMDF, moisture-resistant MDF. The reflex port fires downwards. AVID's Tuned Mass Technology damping system absorbs vibrational energy from the drivers before it reaches the cabinet. In a 3.5-way layout, the two midrange drivers handle the midband while the 250 mm driver adds the lowest bass alone, and the drivers are reflex loaded. The midrange drivers use a damped polymer composite cone. The large titanium voice-coil formers dissipate heat and resist deformation. The crossover uses ClarityCap capacitors with CopperConnect technology and hand-wound air-core inductors, mounted on the rear aluminium baffle. Compared with the Evo Three, AVID revised the cabinet and driver arrangement to extend the bass and increase dynamic range. The company also designed the Evo Two for rooms with less solid walls, such as the lightweight construction common in North America, where walls can absorb or colour bass. With the Relveo turntable launched a month earlier, the Evo Two allowed AVID to offer a complete system from source to speaker built in the UK.

The Evo Two needs a capable amplifier in rooms of 25 to 40 m2. AVID's own electronics and turntables complete an all-AVID system.
