The Evidence Master is a floorstanding loudspeaker from Dynaudio, introduced in 1999 and now listed by the maker among its discontinued models. Dynaudio calls it a milestone in loudspeaker technology. The cabinet is built as three modular sections, and the drivers are arranged symmetrically in the vertical plane. Each column is supplied with feet that widen its footprint.

Key specs that matter

Each speaker carries eight drivers. Two 28 mm Esotar soft dome tweeters sit next to two 15 cm midrange units, while four 20 cm woofers handle the low end, two of them in the upper module and two in the lower one. The tweeters on their own reach beyond 28,000 Hz. Midrange and bass cones are of MSP, a magnesium silicate polymer. Rated frequency response is 27 Hz to 26 kHz within 3 dB, sensitivity is 92 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m, and nominal impedance is 4 ohm. Long-term power handling to the IEC method is 600 W, and the drivers carry powerful magnet structures. The column stands 2050 mm tall, 240 mm wide without its feet and 450 mm wide with them fitted, and 580 mm deep. Each unit weighs 135 kg.

Engineering and use context

Dynaudio describes the crossover as a 3 (5) way network of first order. The main transition points are 400 Hz and 2500 Hz, with two further points of 250 Hz and 7500 Hz given in brackets. The design uses DDC, which the maker expands here as Dynamic Driver Control. The upper and lower cabinet modules are made of HDF in a multi-layer sandwich construction, and each woofer basket is fixed to the HDF by twelve screws. The middle module is a solid aluminium baffle machined by CNC, and the crossover sits inside it in a sub-compartment of its own, shielded from acoustic vibration. The drivers use light aluminium voice coils, and the tweeter magnet assemblies are shaped and damped. The MSP cone material was developed by Dynaudio for low mass, high rigidity and internal damping. Bass reflex loading is used, with ports on the rear. Three finishes were offered - Rosewood High Gloss, Rosewood Satin and Black Piano Lacquer. The Czech price was CZK 2,250,000.
