Revival Audio makes the SPRINT 3 as a two-way stand-mount model of modest size. The brand was founded in 2021 by CEO Jacky Lee together with CTO Daniel Emonts, whose earlier career of more than 30 years included Altec-Lansing, Focal-JMLab and Dynaudio, and its work is done in France. It belongs to the Sprint series, a range that reuses Atalante driver ideas in a different cabinet style, and its look was developed together with the A+A Cooren Design Studio in Paris. A floorstanding sibling, the Sprint 4, shares the same width and depth.
Key specs that matter
The 7 inch woofer works below a 28 mm soft-dome tweeter, and hands over to it at 1.8 kHz. Revival quotes a frequency response of 55 Hz to 22 kHz within 3 dB and a sensitivity of 87 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m. Nominal impedance is 6 ohm, with a minimum of 4.5 ohm at 175 Hz. The recommended amplifier power is 30 to 150 W. Each speaker measures 380 mm high, 213 mm wide and 307 mm deep and weighs 9.1 kg. The maker suggests rooms of 15 to 35 m2.
Engineering and use context
Inside the tweeter dome sits ARID, the patented Revival anti-reflection structure meant to suppress resonances within the tweeter cavity, and the same tweeter type is shared with the Atalante series. The woofer cone uses Basalt Sandwich Construction, abbreviated BSC, which the brand also applies to its Atalante drivers. The front of the cabinet is the ELYTRON baffle, an asymmetrical panel with curved angles that Revival shaped with the help of extensive computer simulation so that directivity is controlled and edge diffraction from the MDF cabinet is reduced. This baffle attaches magnetically, so it can be taken off and refitted without tools, and the grilles are concealed at the rear when not in use. The crossover is hand-tuned rather than set purely from measurements. Three finishes are offered - Walnut, Blonde Oak and Matte Black - which lets the speaker match either wood furniture or a darker interior.
Pairing
A minimum impedance that stays above 4 ohm keeps the load easy for most integrated amplifiers, including compact streaming models. Because sensitivity is moderate, larger rooms need more amplifier power than a small room would. Solid stands of a height that brings the tweeter near ear level make the most of a speaker of this depth and weight.
Alternatives
Revival also offers the Atalante 3, a stand-mount design reaching down to 44 Hz from a single BSC woofer.
