The micr/O is the smallest model in the Orangutan series from DeVore Fidelity, a sealed cube of about 25 cm per side that began as a miniature O/96 for shelf use in the company factory. It was designed alongside the O/baby and shares its internal components.

Key specs that matter

The micr/O pairs a horn-loaded 19 mm textile dome tweeter and a 178 mm paper woofer. Rated response is 50 Hz to 25 kHz, sensitivity is 89 dB/W/m and impedance is 8 ohms. Each speaker weighs 6.9 kg, and the front is a thick CNC-machined birch-ply baffle that shows the unusual tweeter position.

Engineering and use context

The sealed enclosure was intended for a bookcase, record shelves, a desktop or a side table rather than floor stands. The launch price was USD 3,950 per pair.
