The MC-25 is a powered 2.0 speaker system from SVEN, the Finnish brand whose MC series groups its stereo systems for home use. The pair is aimed at people who want a TV, a games console, a media player or a phone to play through one set of speakers without a separate amplifier. SVEN lists it among its multimedia 2.0 systems, and the model is finished in matte black with a removable fabric grille on each front.

Signal handling runs through a built-in digital signal processor that feeds the amplifier stage, and SVEN pairs that processor with a high-performance amplifier section in the active cabinet. Inputs cover three routes - an HDMI port with ARC and CEC support, a digital optical input and a built-in Bluetooth module for wireless playback from a phone or tablet, plus an analogue feed through the supplied mini-jack to 2RCA cable. With HDMI ARC and CEC, the pair can follow the TV power state and volume through the TV remote. For private listening there is a 3.5 mm headphone output, placed on the front of the cabinet so a plug can be inserted without reaching behind the speaker. Volume and rotary tone controls are placed on the side of the powered cabinet, beside the power switch, and a full-function wireless remote is included. The box also holds two AAA batteries for the remote, an HDMI cable, the audio cable, a quick start guide, a manual and a warranty card. Pairing

No external receiver or power amplifier is required for the MC-25. The most direct link to a modern television is the HDMI ARC port, while an older set without ARC can use the optical output. For vinyl, a turntable with an integrated phono stage, or one feeding a separate phono box, can connect to the analogue input, and a phone or laptop can stream over Bluetooth.
