The M146 is the bigger standmount of Revel's Performa4 range, which HARMAN Luxury Audio Group introduced in April 2026 ahead of its first public showing at AXPONA 2026 in Chicago. This passive two-way monitor costs USD 2,999 per pair. Within the series it sits between the smaller M145 and the F345 and F346 floorstanders, and a C245 centre and B140 subwoofer complete the lineup for multichannel systems.
Key specs that matter
A 165 mm woofer handles bass and midrange, its cone formed from Micro Ceramic Composite (MCC), and the 25 mm dome tweeter is made of Deep Ceramic Composite (DCC). The crossover point is 1.7 kHz. Revel specifies 43 Hz to 40 kHz at plus or minus 6 dB and a nominal 6 ohm impedance. Sensitivity is 85.5 dB at 2.83 V and 1 m. The suggested amplifier power is 15 W to 200 W. Each speaker stands 359 mm tall, 245.56 mm wide and 322.57 mm deep and weighs 11 kg, and a packed pair weighs 27 kg. The veneer comes in either Walnut or Black Walnut.
Engineering and use context
According to the company, its two new ceramic composites were created to raise stiffness while keeping moving mass low. The woofer is mounted on a newly patented cast frame designed for better airflow and cooling, lower weight, higher rigidity and better control of resonance, with Finite Element Analysis used in its development. An inverted roll surround and a trim ring built into the driver finish the front. The dome is loaded by the 7th-generation Acoustic Lens, a waveguide intended to widen high-frequency dispersion and keep off-axis output smooth. Air-core inductors are used in the tweeter section of the network. Cross bracing stiffens the cabinet against vibration, the sides are curved, and a bass-reflex port exits through the rear panel. Magnetic grilles attach without visible hardware, and the box includes two foam port bungs and eight anti-slip pads.
Pairing
Two sets of 5-way crystal brass binding posts joined by shorting straps allow bi-wiring or bi-amping with two stereo amplifiers or a multichannel power amp. Given its modest efficiency, a transistor amplifier toward the upper half of Revel's power window leaves headroom in larger spaces. The MFS4 floor stand from the same series, made of extruded aluminium and steel with hidden cable routing, is sold for USD 699 per pair.
Alternatives
For a smaller cabinet and a lower price, the Revel M145 uses a 5.25 in woofer with a 1.8 kHz crossover.
