The Dexter Duo, a two-way stand-mount design, comes from Marten, the Swedish company that hand-builds its speakers in Molndal and has been working for three decades. It is the smallest of the four models in the Dexter series, first shown to the public at High End Vienna 2026 alongside the Dexter Trio, Dexter Quartet and Dexter Quintet floorstanders. Marten presents the series not as an entry-level line but as a way to bring its engineering into a wider variety of rooms. In True Grain Oak the European price is EUR 20,900 per pair, and the Statement Edition adds EUR 4,900.
Key specs that matter
Marten fits a 1 inch Marten pure diamond tweeter and a 7.5 inch Marten ceramic mid/bass driver in each box. The crossover point is 2,000 Hz, with a network Marten calls multi-diverse order. Frequency response is quoted as 35 Hz to 45,000 Hz within plus or minus 2 dB, sensitivity is 88 dB at 2.83 V, and impedance is 6 ohm nominal with a 3.6 ohm minimum. Width is given as 22 to 27 cm, height 43 cm and depth 38 cm, and a single speaker weighs 18 kg.
Engineering and use context
The diamond tweeter used across the whole Dexter series was developed from the Coltrane Supreme Extreme project. Marten describes the ceramic cone as a stiff, low-mass diaphragm. The M-Core cabinet uses a triple-layer construction intended to reduce stored energy and resonance, and the front is a machined carbon fibre laminate faceplate. Bass is loaded by a new system named Loaded Reflex Line, which combines bass reflex and transmission line principles - a shaped internal channel ends in a wide slotted port that fires downward, reducing air velocity and turbulence and giving more freedom of placement. Standard versions are wired internally with Jorma Duality cable, while the Statement Edition switches to Jorma Statement wiring and upgraded crossover parts, keeping the same drivers, cabinet and bass loading. Finishes are True Grain Oak, a veneer exclusive to Dexter, plus Matte Walnut, Piano Walnut and Piano Black.
Pairing
Marten gives a power rating of 200 W and asks for an amplifier that can deliver strong current. The speaker is single-wired through pure copper terminals with rhodium plating. In the US the pair is sold at USD 29,000 without stands and USD 34,000 with the matching stands, and the Statement Edition runs from USD 35,000 to 39,000.
Alternatives
Within the Parker family of floorstanders and monitors, Marten offers the Parker Duo as its stand speaker option.
