The D100X is a pair of active Bluetooth bookshelf speakers with a built-in amplifier from Majority, the audio brand from Cambridge in the UK that has been selling products since 2012. It was launched in the UK around 4 May 2026 at GBP 129 per pair, and it combines turntable, television and streaming connections in one system.
Key specs that matter
The built-in amplifier delivers 100 W in total. Each speaker pairs a 4 inch carbon-fibre bass unit with a 1 inch carbon-fibre tweeter. Connections are Bluetooth 5.3, HDMI ARC, optical, a dedicated phono input with a built-in phono stage, RCA, a 3.5 mm AUX input and USB playback, plus a headphone jack. Controls on the speaker adjust volume, bass and treble, and preset equaliser modes include a dialogue mode for television sound. Each speaker measures 17 x 18.2 x 27.5 cm, and the set weighs 6.8 kg. Mains input is 200 to 240 V AC at 50 or 60 Hz. Finishes are black or white, and the warranty is three years with online registration.
Engineering and use context
The phono stage raises the low output of a moving-magnet turntable to line level and applies the RIAA equalisation, so a record player connects without an external preamplifier. HDMI ARC carries television sound from the TV's ARC socket and lets the TV remote control the volume, and the optical input serves televisions and players without HDMI. The dialogue mode lifts the voice range when watching programmes, which helps with speech at low volume. Carbon fibre makes a light and stiff cone material for small drivers. One speaker contains the amplifier and inputs, and the second is connected with the supplied speaker cable. USB playback reads music files from a memory stick. The box contains both speakers, a remote control, the power cable, the speaker connection cable, an RCA cable, an AUX cable and a manual. At under 30 cm tall, the speakers fit on a desk, a TV unit or a bookshelf.
Pairing
Record player, TV and phone can all be connected at the same time, so the D100X works as a complete system without a separate amplifier. For desktop listening or a compact room, no subwoofer is required.
Alternatives
The Majority D100 is the model with the same cabinet size, using 3 inch full-range drivers with separate tweeters.
