Thieaudio's Valhalla is an in-ear monitor that succeeds the V16 Divinity as the brand's top model. It carries 19 balanced armature drivers in each earpiece, housed in a shell precision-machined by CNC from grade 5 titanium. The alloy is Ti-6Al-4V with a semi-matte finish. The Valhalla went on sale on 6 September 2025 at a list price of USD 1,999. Other models in the current Thieaudio range include the Oracle MKIII and the Prestige LTD.

Key specs that matter

Each side contains four Sonion 38D1XJ007 subwoofers, ten Sonion E50DT0005 low-midrange units, four Knowles RDE 33729 mid-treble units and one Knowles WBFK 30095 ultra-treble tweeter. They are split by a 4-way passive crossover network built from multiple second-order sections and fed through a 4-bore acoustic tubing system. Thieaudio quotes a frequency response of 5 Hz to 40 kHz. The impedance is of 9 ohm at 1 kHz and the sensitivity is 103 dB at 1 kHz with a tolerance of 1 dB. The earpieces use a recessed 0.78 mm two-pin socket and an extended, wide-bore metal nozzle covered by a mesh filter.

Engineering and use context

The Precision Bass System, or PBS, places the four subwoofers in a custom resonance chamber with a diversion tube, a low-frequency filter and a pressure relief vent. Thieaudio says the chamber targets content below 20 Hz and produces a 10 dB bass shelf with a sharp cutoff at 200 Hz. Above that point the target curve falls by a gentle 1 dB between 200 Hz and 800 Hz and then rises to an 8 dB pinna gain peak centred at 2.8 kHz. Using balanced armatures throughout means there is no dynamic driver in the design, and all 19 units per side are sourced from Sonion and Knowles.

Pairing

The EliteNoir V2 cable is supplied in the box. It is a 20 AWG Litz Type II construction with 161 individual wires, combining 7x7x0.08 mm strands of 5N silver-plated LCOFC with 16x7x0.06 mm strands of 4N silver-plated LCOFC, and is 1.2 m long, with spiral shielding, smoke black-blue soft PVC insulation, aluminium hardware and Mundorf Supreme solder. Its interchangeable plugs cover 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced outputs, so the Valhalla suits both phones with adapters and desktop or portable amplifiers with balanced outputs. A fabric-covered circular carry case and a set of silicone ear tips complete the package.
