The Pro X is a true wireless earbud from Status Audio, the New York lifestyle brand founded by James Bertuzzi. It follows the Between Pro and Between 3ANC, keeping the brand's angular styling but in a housing around 21% smaller than its predecessor, and it moves the acoustic design up a level with a hybrid triple-driver system that is still rare in true wireless earbuds. It reached retail in September 2025.

Key specs that matter

Each earbud combines a 12mm dynamic driver with two Knowles balanced armature drivers. Bluetooth 5.3 supports LDAC, and Bluetooth LE Audio adds the LC3 codec and Auracast broadcast audio. Hybrid active noise cancellation is quoted at up to 52dB of ambient noise reduction. Battery life is 8 hours per charge, rising to around 24 hours in total with the charging case. The earbuds are rated IP55 against dust and water.

Engineering and use context

The hybrid configuration assigns each part of the frequency range to the most suitable transducer. The dynamic driver, larger than in the previous model, handles low frequencies where large cone area matters, while the two Knowles balanced armatures cover the midrange and treble, where their low moving mass and precise response are strongest. Knowles also supplies balanced armature drivers to professional in-ear monitor makers. LDAC streaming and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification from the Japan Audio Society let the drivers receive high-resolution signals, while LE Audio support prepares the earbuds for newer phones and Auracast broadcasts in public venues. Voice calls use the brand's Voiceloom AI beamforming and noise-reduction processing, and an adjustable transparency mode complements the hybrid noise cancelling. The smaller housing is aimed at a better fit over long sessions.

Pairing

The Pro X works with any Bluetooth source, from phones and tablets to laptops. Android devices with LDAC make the fullest use of the hybrid drivers, and multipoint keeps two devices connected at once, with Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for quick setup. The compact charging case supports Qi wireless charging.

Alternatives

Status Audio's own Between 3ANC is the brand's earlier triple-driver model with a 10mm dynamic driver in a larger housing, representing the previous generation of the same hybrid concept.
