The Momentum 4 Wireless 80th Anniversary Special Edition is a limited run of the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless over-ear Bluetooth headphone, dressed in artwork by the German graffiti artist Bond Truluv. It marks eight decades since Sennheiser was founded in 1945. The edition went on sale in summer 2025 in limited quantities at GBP 269 and EUR 369.90, with an Australian list price of AUD 639.95. Bond Truluv is known for combining traditional graffiti with augmented reality street art.
Key specs that matter
Each side uses a 42 mm transducer. Sennheiser lists a frequency range of 6 Hz to 22 kHz, a sensitivity of 106 dB SPL at 1 kHz and 0 dBFS, and distortion below 0.3 % at 1 kHz and 100 dB SPL. Impedance is 470 ohm with the electronics active and 60 ohm in passive wired use. The Bluetooth 5.2 radio is class 1 with 10 mW maximum output in the 2,402 to 2,480 MHz band, and it supports the SBC, AAC, aptX and aptX Adaptive codecs with the A2DP, AVRCP and HFP profiles. A built-in 700 mAh lithium-ion cell gives up to 60 hours of music via Bluetooth with noise cancelling on.
Engineering and use context
The artwork is the only change from the regular model. The left earcup carries the artist's signature throwie tag over a raw background, and the right earcup has abstract linework drawn from audio waveforms. Yellow accents on the headphone and its packaging, including a yellow 80, refer back to the Sennheiser HD 414. Underneath, the electronics match the standard Momentum 4 Wireless. Noise cancelling is a hybrid adaptive system, and two beamforming microphones per side handle noise reduction and voice pickup across 50 Hz to 10 kHz. A full charge takes about two hours through USB-C at 5 V and 800 mA, and five minutes of charging adds around four hours of playback. The frame folds flat for travel, with a padded headband and cushioned ear pads. The kit includes a carry case, a USB-C charging cable, a 3.5 mm audio cable and an airplane adapter.
Pairing
Phones and laptops with Bluetooth connect directly, and Android handsets with aptX Adaptive can use that codec for the higher-quality wireless link. The supplied analogue cable allows passive use with an in-flight socket or a portable player when the battery is flat. No separate amplifier is required.
Alternatives
The Sennheiser HDB 630 is a closed over-ear Bluetooth model with a 24-bit and 96 kHz dongle and a parametric equaliser.
