The KPH30 Wireless is a wireless on-ear model which Koss announced on 15 July 2025 as a cordless successor to the wired KPH30i. The company kept the look of the older model but says the headphone was reworked from the inside out, adding a battery, a wireless receiver and onboard controls to the lightweight frame. Koss lists it at USD 59.99 in three colourways - Rhythm Beige, Orbital White and Stealth Grey - and Orbital White arrived after the first two finishes.
Key specs that matter
Koss quotes a frequency range of 15 to 25,000 Hz, a nominal impedance of 32 ohms and a maximum sound pressure level of 104 dB. The battery lasts for more than 20 hours per charge and is recharged over a USB-C port. The Bluetooth link is specified for a range of about 9 m. Voice calls go through an integrated microphone, while the integrated audio controls adjust volume, manage tracks and wake a voice assistant on the connected phone. Unlike the wired Koss headphones with their lifetime cover, this model carries a one-year warranty.
Engineering and use context
Resting on the outer ear instead of enclosing it keeps the headphone small and light enough for long sessions at home, in an office or while travelling. Koss redesigned the headband and added a patent-pending suspension intended to make it stronger and more durable while spreading the pressure for all-day comfort. Koss calls the KPH30 Wireless a hybrid headphone - besides Bluetooth playback, it accepts a wired analogue signal through its USB-C socket. That mode uses the optional KUSB-50 cord, a 1.2 m lead with USB-C at one end and a 3.5 mm plug at the other, priced at USD 19.99. The cord includes a OneTouch remote with a microphone for calls, music control and voice assistant access, and Koss suggests it for gaming, video editing or listening when the battery has run flat. The same cord also fits the Porta Pro Wireless, so owners of both models can share one lead.
Pairing
Bluetooth-equipped smartphones, tablets and computers link to the KPH30 Wireless directly, so no separate DAC or headphone amplifier is required for wireless use. With the KUSB-50 lead fitted, the headphone plugs into the headphone output of a laptop, game controller, in-flight socket or portable player, which helps where no Bluetooth link can be made.
Alternatives
The Koss Porta Pro Wireless is a pricier Bluetooth on-ear model at USD 99.99 with adjustable temporal pads, a collapsible frame and a 60 ohm impedance.
