The MIX is a pair of wireless over-ear headphones from Fender Audio, the consumer audio brand of Fender, the guitar maker founded by Leo Fender in California in 1946. It combines hybrid active noise cancellation with a modular design in which parts can be swapped or replaced. It was priced at USD 299.99 in the USA.

Key specs that matter

The headphones use 40 mm graphene drivers with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 40 kHz. Bluetooth 5.3 supports SBC, AAC, LC3 and LHDC. A supplied FWD Tx USB-C wireless transmitter provides three modes, lossless at 96 kHz/24-bit, low latency below 20 ms and Auracast broadcast. Battery life is up to 100 hours without noise cancelling and 52 hours with it, and 15 minutes of charging gives 8 or 14 hours of play. A full charge takes about 2 hours over USB-C. Wired connection is by USB-C digital passthrough or 3.5 mm AUX. Dual microphones with environmental noise cancellation handle calls. Colours are Skyscraper Black and Olympic White.

Engineering and use context

Graphene is very light and stiff, so a graphene driver keeps its shape at higher frequencies, supporting extended high-frequency response. The MIX is the first headphone model from Fender Audio, introduced at CES in January 2026. The modular construction lets owners exchange ear cushions, headbands and even the battery, both for customisation and for service, extending the headphones' life. Standard Bluetooth compresses audio, so the FWD Tx transmitter adds its own wireless link carrying lossless 96 kHz/24-bit audio from a computer, phone or console with USB-C. Its low-latency mode keeps delay below 20 ms, suitable for gaming and video, and the Auracast mode broadcasts to several devices. USB-C wired use passes digital audio directly, supporting lossless and high-resolution formats, and the same USB-C port handles charging. With the 3.5 mm cable, the headphones can also work passively without power, although the DSP and DAC are then inactive. Hybrid noise cancellation combines feedforward and feedback microphones, and spatial audio processing is included. A hard case is included.

Pairing

The FWD Tx transmitter connects to computers, phones and consoles with USB-C for lossless or low-latency listening. Bluetooth covers other devices, and LC3 support makes it compatible with Bluetooth LE Audio sources.

Alternatives

Fender Audio makes no other headphones, and the MIX remains its only model of this type.
