The Aspire 1 is the entry model of the Aspire universal in-ear monitor series from 64 Audio, an American company that has built custom monitors for musicians since 2010. The series was expanded with new models at the 2025 NAMM Show, and the Aspire 1 is priced at USD 349.99. 64 Audio, founded by sound engineer Vitaliy Belonozhko, says the earphones are designed, assembled and checked by its own technicians in the USA. The four Aspire models shipped in the first quarter of 2025, with the Aspire 2 at USD 499.99, the Aspire 3 at USD 649.99 and the Aspire 4 at USD 799.99.

Key specs that matter

One full-range dynamic driver is fitted per side, unlike the Aspire 2, 3 and 4, which use hybrid layouts combining balanced armature and dynamic drivers. Rated frequency response is 20 Hz to 18 kHz. Sensitivity is 104 dB at 1 kHz with 1 mW, and impedance is 11 ohm at 1 kHz. Passive isolation is given as minus 20 dB. Each housing is formed from moulded ABS plastic and ends in a 5 mm stainless steel nozzle that takes third-party tips.

Engineering and use context

The Aspire 1 and 2 use a Helmholtz resonator, an acoustic chamber tuned to cancel resonance at targeted frequencies, while the two larger models add a waveguide on the high-frequency driver. 64 Audio also fits its patented Apex Core venting, which releases air pressure that builds up in a sealed ear canal and lets the wearer keep isolation while reducing the pressure fatigue common with fully sealed earphones during long sets. The detachable cable connects through an IPX socket, also called T2, instead of the 2-pin connector used on many other monitors. The supplied 1.2 m black cable ends in a 90 degree 3.5 mm plug, and a 6.35 mm adaptor is included for mixers and pro gear. The box also holds a zipper carry case, foam and silicone tips, Comply oval foam tips, a cleaning tool and a shirt clip, which covers the needs of stage use as well as daily listening. The series is aimed at musicians and live sound professionals and borrows technology from the company's custom monitors.

Pairing

Being both efficient and easy to drive, the Aspire 1 can be driven by a phone, a laptop or a portable player, as well as by the bodypack receivers of wireless in-ear monitoring systems used on stage. The large jack adaptor allows direct connection to the headphone socket of a mixing desk or an audio interface.

Alternatives

The 64 Audio Aspire 2 is the next universal monitor in the series, moving to a hybrid design with a balanced armature added to the dynamic driver.
