The PowerStation 1009 is a mains filter and power conditioner for hi-fi and home cinema from Oehlbach Kabel GmbH, the German cable and accessory maker founded in 1985 in Pulheim. It was announced on 9 July 2026 at EUR 1,999 including VAT, under article number D1C13053, and it is sold through specialist retailers.

Key specs that matter

The unit handles a maximum total load of 2,300 W at 230 V and 50 Hz, with 10 A input current through an IEC C14 inlet. At its core is an encapsulated toroidal isolation transformer rated at 600 W. There are eight Schuko outlets, four with a filter for digital sources, two filtered outlets for analogue electronics such as amplifiers and two unfiltered outlets. A gold-plated ground terminal serves a turntable. Four status LEDs on the front show operation and warn of overtemperature, overvoltage, overload or incorrect phase polarity. Internal wiring is OFC with a cross-section of 3.3 mm2, and all contacts are gold-plated with 24-carat gold. The unit weighs 14.9 kg, and a retailer gives its size as about 435 x 125 x 290 mm. A 1.5 m mains cable is included.

Engineering and use context

The isolation transformer separates the connected equipment galvanically from the mains, so interference carried on the supply and ground loops between components are broken. The filtered sections are limited by the transformer rating, while the higher total rating applies to the unit as a whole. A DC blocker removes DC offset on the mains, which can make toroidal transformers in connected amplifiers hum. An integrated sheath-current filter targets ground loops and high-frequency EMI and RFI interference. Separating digital and analogue outlets keeps noise from streamers and players away from the amplifier. Protection covers overvoltage with a fast response and an LED indicator, overload and temperature, and a delay function of about one second softens the inrush current when components switch on. The housing is all metal with a massive brushed aluminium front in black.

Pairing

Digital sources such as streamers and CD players go on the digital filter outlets, amplifiers on the analogue outlets and high-current power amplifiers on the unfiltered outlets. The ground terminal connects a turntable's earth wire.

Alternatives

The Oehlbach PowerStation 909 is the smaller rack unit with four filtered and four unfiltered outlets and a display showing consumption and voltage.
