The Phantom Ultimate Roland Garros Exclusive Edition is a wireless active speaker from Devialet, the French audio company, finished to celebrate the Roland-Garros tennis tournament. This is the larger version of the edition, priced at USD 4,200, and a smaller version also exists. The finish is Clay Red, with side panels showing Court Philippe-Chatrier in high-gloss white lines and the Roland-Garros logo.

Devialet fits one aluminium dome tweeter, one aluminium dome midrange and two opposed ABS dome woofers on the sides. Total amplification is 1100 W, maximum output is 108 dB SPL at 1 m and frequency response is 14 Hz to 35 kHz at ±6 dB. An NXP i.MX 8M Nano processor with four cores at 1.5 GHz runs the system. Connections are Wi-Fi 6, Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC and AAC and one Toslink optical input. For streaming it supports Roon Ready and UPnP along with AirPlay, Google Cast and the Connect services of Spotify, Tidal and Qobuz. The speaker measures 246 x 255 x 342 mm and weighs 11.1 kg. Engineering and use context

Devialet's ADH, Analog Digital Hybrid, amplification combines a Class A analogue stage with Class D current delivery. SAM, Speaker Active Matching, adapts the signal to the behaviour of the drivers, and AVL, Adaptive Volume Level, manages loudness. The two woofers face each other on opposite sides in Devialet's Heart Bass Implosion layout, so their mechanical forces cancel and the enclosure stays still even at high bass levels. The system also uses Devialet's DAC Magic Wire, its own ASIC and the DOS 3 operating system, and the company cites more than 200 patents. Two Phantoms can be paired as a stereo system over Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and the Devialet app controls the speaker along with four touch sensors and a status LED. The body is painted ultra-matte white, and the side panels are mirror-polished, laser-etched and tinted. Devialet gives a two-year warranty, extended to five years with Devialet Care.

Pairing

Since amplification and streaming are built in, the Phantom needs only a streaming source, a phone or a television connected by optical cable. A second unit of the same edition creates a stereo pair, and Devialet's Tree and Treepod stands or Gecko wall mount hold it in place.
