The Power Two is a stereo power amplifier from Alluxity, the Danish brand whose products are designed by Alexander Vitus Mogensen, of the family behind Vitus Audio. It shares its circuit layout with the Int One integrated, in Class AB from a compact chassis. It is smaller than the Power One, Alluxity's first stereo amplifier. UK pricing was about GBP 7,650.

Key specs that matter

Output is about 200 W into 8 ohms, 400 W into 4 ohms and 800 W into 2 ohms per channel. Inputs are one RCA and one XLR. Per channel, it has a 600 VA transformer and 60,000 uF of capacitance. Input impedance is 10 kohm, output impedance 75 milliohms and input sensitivity 0.7 Vrms on RCA and 1.4 Vrms on XLR. Frequency response extends beyond 800 kHz, and signal-to-noise exceeds 100 dB. Standby consumption is below 1 W. The amplifier measures 43.5 x 10.5 x 33.5 cm and weighs 17.5 kg. Finishes are black, satin white, titanium grey and titanium orange.

Engineering and use context

The design is fully balanced, with a separate transformer for each channel, so neither channel draws on the other's supply. The output doubles into 4 ohms and again into 2 ohms, showing that the supply and output stage can deliver the current that low-impedance speakers demand. Low output impedance gives firm control over the woofers. Its dimensions and heat dissipation suit a living room rather than a dedicated equipment rack, in line with Alluxity's aim of lifestyle high-end products. Compared with the Power One, the Power Two is about 30% shallower, since the Power One's chassis is 48 cm deep and weighs 31 kg. The chassis is milled from a single block of aluminium. Alluxity separated the channels, power and control sections and signal parts in the layout to lower noise, combining leaded parts with surface-mount components. The balanced XLR input suits the balanced outputs of Alluxity's preamplifiers. Alluxity describes it as having enough power and current to control almost any loudspeaker. The brand is part of AVA Group A/S, based in Herning, Denmark, which also sells the Mono One monoblock and Int One mkII integrated built with the same balanced topology.

Pairing

The Power Two pairs with Alluxity's Pre Two preamplifier, which adds DAC and streaming, or with the Int One mkII for bi-amping. It suits most towers in spaces of 20 to 40 m2.
