The PMG Signature S200 is a stereo amplifier from PS Audio, designed from the ground up by Darren Myers, engineered by Bob Stadtherr and hand-assembled in Boulder, Colorado. It uses the same PMG Signature topology as the M400 and M800 monoblocks in a single stereo chassis, was priced at USD 7,999 and became available in July 2026.
Key specs that matter
Output is 100 W per channel into 8 ohm and 200 W per channel into 4 ohm, and each channel runs its first 10 W in Class A. Gain is 26.2 dB and sensitivity is 1.4 V. Input impedance is 100 kohm single-ended and 200 kohm balanced. Frequency response runs from below 10 Hz to 80 kHz within 0.25 dB, and bandwidth exceeds 500 kHz, with a slew rate above 200 V per microsecond. Typical THD is below 0.002% from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at 1 W into 8 ohm. Damping factor exceeds 240 at 8 ohm between 20 Hz and 1 kHz, and crosstalk is better than 90 dB at 1 kHz. The bare chassis measures 44.5 cm wide, 40.6 cm deep and 20.3 cm high, growing to 42.5 cm deep and 22.2 cm high with feet and posts, and the amplifier weighs 25.5 kg.
Engineering and use context
The circuit uses very low overall negative feedback, while the two channels are laid out in the single chassis to keep crosstalk between them low. Instead of a conventional transformer-based supply, it has an active power supply designed to hold output steady as current demand changes and to reduce interaction between the channels. Consumption is under 2 W in standby, 180 W at idle and 360 W at 25 W into 4 ohm. The amplifier adjusts automatically to 120 or 230 V mains at 50 or 60 Hz and can be ordered in black or in silver. Packed for shipping, it weighs 30.8 kg in a carton of 59.7 x 58.4 x 38.1 cm.
Pairing
Sources connect through a single set of RCA inputs or a single set of XLR inputs. Each channel has two sets of silver-plated terminals, eight posts in total, so each loudspeaker can be bi-wired. Left and right subwoofer outputs allow powered subwoofers to be added, and a 3.5 mm trigger input and output let a preamplifier or processor start it remotely, which also suits home theatre installations.
Alternatives
The PMG Signature S400 is the more powerful stereo amplifier in the same PMG Signature range.
