The PAE 150 is a stereo transistor power amplifier from Electric Audio, the brand of Gauder Akustik and AMP from Renningen in Germany, and it uses the same power amplifier circuit as the TAE 150 integrated. Both were launched at High End Munich 2025. Prices start at EUR 6,998, and the DV version with a larger power supply costs extra.
Key specs that matter
Eight MOSFETs per channel form the output stage, which remains stable into 2 ohm. On its website the maker quotes 132 W into 8 ohm, 218 W into 4 ohm and 366 W into 2 ohm, and the manual gives 120, 200 and 300 W for the standard amplifier, with 80 A of peak current, or 90 A in the DV. The single stereo input can be used as XLR or RCA, but not both at once. The speaker terminals are four WBT posts for one pair of speakers. A 5 V trigger output is live when the amplifier is on, a USB port handles service updates and a control link connects it to other Electric Audio units. The case measures 435 x 195 x 390 mm, and the amplifier weighs 22 kg, or 23.5 kg as the DV.
Engineering and use context
The DV upgrade raises the transformer from 750 to 1,000 VA and the filter capacitance from 80,000 to 160,000 µF, and it fits WBT-0707 terminals and a better mains cable, but it cannot be added later. The amplifier is purely analogue and has no volume control, so it must be driven by a preamplifier with its own level control or by the TAE 150. The front panel carries an LED logo, a level bar, a standby bar and the infrared sensor, and the power switch is on the back. When linked to a TAE 150, the PAE 150 follows its display settings, and its level can be offset by -3, -1.5, 0, +1.5 or +3 dB to balance the bass in a bi-amped system. The manual warns that the bridges between the bass and treble terminals of the speakers must be removed when bi-amping, as both amplifiers could otherwise be damaged. Protection covers overheating, short circuits and overload, and faults are shown by the colour and flashing pattern of the logo. The LEDs offer 13 colours with adjustable brightness. The amplifier can be mounted in a rack with at least 5 cm of clearance above it. The RCE 1 remote comes with it, the RCE 11 is optional and registration brings three years of warranty cover.
Pairing
The TAE 150 is the intended partner for bi-amping, and any preamplifier with a variable XLR or RCA output can drive it.
Alternatives
Electric Audio makes no other power amplifier, so the PAE 150 has no stereo alternative within the brand.
