The amplifier is dual-monaural, and the maker states that it can also be used as a mono amplifier.

Key specs that matter

Rated output is 250 W per channel into 8 ohms and 500 W per channel into 4 ohms, measured from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at under 0.3% THD, and the amplifier remains stable with 2 ohm loads. Every channel uses twelve high-bandwidth bipolar output transistors. A 1,900 VA low-noise toroidal transformer feeds 80,000 uF of reservoir capacitance per channel. The case is 202.7 mm high, 455.0 mm wide and 522.6 mm deep. The signal path is Pure Path, fully balanced and built only from discrete parts. Output runs in Class A/AB with a high standing current, which keeps it in Class A across moderate listening levels, and the design uses minimal internal feedback. Sensitive parts are mechanically isolated and damped against vibration. Heat leaves through aluminium heat-sink side panels and a vented lid. The black anodised aluminium body rests on a silver base, and a central glass panel carries the red lighting that identifies the 600 Series. Design, manufacture and assembly take place in the USA.

The intended preamplifier is the № 626, a dual-mono unit with its own Precision Link III DAC based on the ESS Sabre ES9039PRO, two balanced and three single-ended line inputs, a Class A phono stage, a Class A headphone amplifier and balanced outputs that connect to the XLR inputs here. Its high low-impedance ratings mean demanding loudspeakers are within its range.
